Deloy Tankersley Obituary
Hubert Deloy Tankersley passed away June 1, 2021 at his home in Dayton, TN.
Deloy was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and an avid fisherman and a dirt track racer. His favorite thing was going fishing with his buddies Jayden and Paxton at Daytona.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Ressie Tankersley; son Michael Mincey; sister, Linda Burchard and brothers, James Carroll Tankersley and Ferris Tankersley.
Hi is survived by his wife, Sandra Tankersley; sons Lamar (Talma) Mincey, Tony Tankersley, William A. Dodd all of Dayton, TN; daughter, Vera Denise Irvin of Spring City, TN; sisters, Sheila Steel, Jean Hughes both of Dayton, TN, Leila (Don) Simpson of Spring City, TN; brother, Larry (Janet) Tankersley of Dayton, TN; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Panther officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Friday, June 4, 2021 from 5:00-8:00pm.
