She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Harwood and Adeline Harwood; her husband James Edward Van Winkle; and her granddaughter Aislinn Gabrielle Pearce. She is survived by: her sons, James Pearce and Norman Pearce (Heather); her brothers, Edward Harwood (Shirley) and Rev. John Allen Harwood; and her grandchildren, Brett Aaron Pearce, Brittany Nichole Heath, Bethany Leighann Pearce, Olivia Elina Pearce, Kirsten Ashleigh Barley, Reily Amarah Tyson and Brayden Aine Pearce. She is also survived by six great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
