He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Yates and Lucille Harris Yates; his siblings, Edna Mae Yates, Norma Jean Fraley and Bobby Ray Yates; his siblings-in-law, Lowell Perry and Shirley Yates; and his son-in-law Keith Norton.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Cottle (John) and Randy Yates (Fawn); his grandsons, Zack and Zane Norton; his sisters, Joyce Perry and Ruth Cook (Morgan); his brother-in-law Malcolm Fraley; and his close friend Sandy Faile of Cleveland, TN.. He is also survived by his family and friends.
