He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen Marie Holmes; his parents, Lonzo Holmes and Irene Baker Holmes; his children, Lonnie Holmes, Dianna Holmes, Timothy Holmes and Curtis Holmes; and his brothers, Larry Holmes, Danny Holmes and Sonny Holmes.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Ray Holmes, Paul Holmes, James Holmes, Bobby Holmes, Shirley Holmes and Rita Holmes. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
