He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alice and Lawson "Toot" Parton; his brother David; his sister-in-law Darlene Parton; and his stepson Billijack Tipton.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Parton; his son Robert "Buck" Allen; his daughter-in-law Kerry Parton; his grandchildren, Destin, Devin Parton, Daniel Tipton, Ashely Effler and Khloe Fuqua; his siblings, Elizabeth Bowers and Eddie; and his sister-in-law Debbie Parton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
