It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Peggy Rountree Chesney (Dandridge, Tennessee), born in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on July 4, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles and Minnie Rountree, Sr.; her brothers, Charles Lee Rountree, Jr. of Newport News, VA and Franklin Cole Rountree of Newport News, VA; and her daughter Mary Angela Chesney.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth L. Chesney; her children, Leigh Barnes (Curtis), Kay Alexander (Ralph) and Michael Chesney (Karen); her grandchildren, Craig Alexander (Joni), Cory Alexander, Emily Justus and Leanne Chesney (Richard Parks); and her great grandchildren, Deacon Justus and Ella Parks. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
John Sevier Hwy. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, PO Box 8, 121 East Meeting St., Dandridge, TN 37725, New Hope Sunday School Class, and designated for the homebound Wednesday meals program.
