She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Bush and Ollie Derrick Bush; her husband Ponder Hughes; her son Bill Hughes; and her brothers, James Bush and Shannon Bush.

She is survived by: her children, Johnny Hughes (Wanda) of Dandridge and Brenda Donahue (Raymond) of Knoxville; her sisters, Jane Garing of Alabama and Zola Ketner of Jefferson City; her grandchildren, Wendy Donahue, Jennifer Hightower, Shannon Donahue, Robin Hughes and Doug Hughes; and her great grandchild Jesse Hughes. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
