He was predeceased by: his mother Della Pearl Cate; and his brothers, W. D. and Scotty Cate. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Cate; his son Terry Cate (Nette); his grandsons, Jonathan Cate (Felicia) and Brandon Cate (Lisa Ratada); and his brothers, Buster Cate (Delphine), Ricky and David Cate. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
