James Hollis Russell Obituary
JAMES HOLLIS RUSSELL, age 78 of Dandridge, TN passed away, Saturday morning, June 10, 2017 at the Jefferson Co. Nursing Home. He was the son of the late Hugh Paul Russell and Nellie Russell and was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Chandler; brothers, J.D., John and Hugh Russell; sister, Betty Smith. Hollis was a decorated veteran of the U.S.
Navy with 22 years of service as a aviation machinist and recruiter. He served above and beyond the call of duty in numerous combat theaters. Following his military service, he worked for 10 years as the plant engineer at Baptist Hospital and was recruited to be the facility manager and help open the Knoxville Museum of Art where he worked for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Grace Russell; children, Cheryl Root, Darlene Robitaille, Dannelle Russell Littleton, Paul Russell and Jimmy Russell; 6 grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Russell; several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017, 11:00am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
