He is survived by: his wife C. Suzan Burch; his children, Margaret Anne Stenger, James Henry Burch, Sr., Paul Frederick Burch and John Andrew Burch; his grandchildren, Richard Verchow, Jesse Verchow, James Henry Burch, Jr., Eleanor Donahue Burch, Amie Voith Morville, Kathleen Burch Swift and Thomas Burch; his great grandchildren, Sara Marie Kelly, Macy Patricia Sabin, Remy Constantine Morville, Eve Palma Swift, Mae Potter Swift and Daisy Louise Swift; and his sisters, Jeanne K. Cole and Rebecca A. Parks. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
