He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Edgar Shuford and Myrtle Clark Shuford; and his siblings, Robert McGuinn (Bob) and Bearnice Estes Carmichael (Jack). He is survived by: his wife Brenda Jolly Shuford; his daughter Cynthia Shuford Sampson; his son-in-law Daryl Sampson; his granddaughter Abigail "Abby" Sampson; and his sister-in-law Marian McGuinn Furlough.
