It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Garland Ponder McCoig of Dandridge, Tennessee, who passed away on July 11, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his significant other Lois Franklin McCoig; his parents, Marshall McCoig and Myrtle Strange McCoig; and his grandson Derrick McCoig. He is survived by: his siblings, Marjorie Martin (Bob), Taylor McCoig (Maxine), Clark McCoig (Barbara Jo) and Tom White; his aunt Ruth Franklin; his children, G. W. "Bud" McCoig (Joan) and Brenda Holland (David); his grandchildren, Julie Allen (JayJay), John Holland, Martina Holland, Luke Holland (Kristin) and Kelly Wilson (John); his great grandchildren, Chandler, Joshua, Fayth Holland, Tripp Allen, Tori Hill and Ty Wilson; and his sister Helen Faye White.
The family requests that masks are recommended and adhere to social distancing during the visitation and funeral at the church.
