She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester V. Thornton and Anna L. Brooks Thornton; her brothers, J. C. Thornton and Oliver P. Thornton; her husband Raymond Cecil Ellis; and her daughter Lisa Ellis Kirk.
She is survived by: her son Darrell Ellis (Brenda) of Chestnut Hill; her granddaughter Whitney Ehlers (Ben) of Bethel Park, PA; her great grandchildren, Alexis, Jaxon and Ginia of Bethel Park, PA; her sister-in-law Lucy Thornton; and her son-in-law Dr. Mike Kirk.
