He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Franklin Hance. He is survived by: his daughters, Wendy Hance Hodge (Greg) and Janet Hance Woods (Tony); his grandchildren, Christopher Hodge (Kristen), Jonathan Hodge (Brooke), Sarah Darby (Will), Jason Woods and Adam Woods; his great grandchild Jon Luke Hodge; his sisters, Martha Blackburn and Joan Hance; and his sisters-in-law, Janice Hance, Betty Smelcer, Helen Franklin, Shelby Franklin and Betty Ann Franklin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be made to the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 1675 Harold Patterson Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725.
