He is survived by: his wife Vinyard Matthews (McCampbell); his son Johnny Matthews; his siblings, Ethel Garrett, Bertha Tipton, Arlie, Lawson, Frank, Charles Winfred and Lon Matthews; and his siblings-in-law, Edna McCampbell, Lillie Matthews, Faye Matthews and David McCampbell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
