He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Hughes (Dub) and Nellie Beck Hughes; his grandparents, William Leslie Hughes (Jack), Rosie Tidwell Hughes, Burley and Hazel Beck; and his siblings, Sharon Hughes Lambert, James Ronnie Hughes and Jackie Dewayne Hughes.

He is survived by: his wife Hazel Hughes; his children, Tara Hughes and Steven Hix; his grandchildren, Steven Hix, Amy Byrd and Angel Vega; his great grandchild Max Byrd; his sister Debbie Kender (Steve); and his pet Chloe.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3009 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
