He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Smith (Mike) and Evelyn Smith (Beauregard); his son Charles Hurley; and his grandson Daniel Hurley. He is survived by: his wife Emma Smith (Ruth); his children, Debbie Vollmer (Joe), Rhonda Ramos (Marcos) and Laurence M. Smith, III (Heidi); his sister Patricia Lazlo; and his daughter-in-law Karen McGee Defer. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
