He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Flake and Fannie Bell Flake; his wife Cleo Flake; his sister Betty Cole; his brothers-in-law, Albert Owens and Jack Cole; his children, Ben Smith, Dusty Flake and Jerrie Cobb; his grandson Dale Cobb; his great grandchild IrisRuby Goddard; and his great-nephew Kevin Brier.
He is survived by: his sister Midgie Owens of Hilliard, FL; his children, Larry Flake (Laura) of Crossville, TN, Lynda Maier and Lynn Colter of Crossville, TN; his stepson Eric Friedman (Heather); his son-in-law Tony Cobb of Crossville; and his nieces, Punkin, Donna Owens (Sissy), Rhonda Campbell (Big Sissy) and Robin Wilson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Smith's Chapel Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
