It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Gilbert McCraney of Crossville, Tennessee, born in Auburndale, Florida, who passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie A. McCraney and Henrietta Mincey McCraney; his wife Lavonne Auten McCraney; his siblings, Donald L. McCraney and Sylvia McCraney; and his stepfather J. Lester Bridgeforth.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Hawthorne (Ronnie) of Ludowici, Georgia, Beverly Bryant of Lutz, Dwight Cope (Beate) of Eden and James. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
