He is survived by: his wife Joan Vest (Carey); his daughters, Martha Vest, Erin Rogers (Jesse) and Kari Meek (Phil); his grandchildren, Michael VanWinkle (Khrystal), Kristen Richardson (Zakk), Abby Clark, Leah Rogers, Kennedy Rogers, Nick Meek, Jimmy Meek and Joanna Meek; his great grandchildren, Zeke Richardson, Lydia Richardson and Erasmus VanWinkle; his brothers, Steven Vest (Sue) and Charles Vest (Kathy); and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bowman, Jacqueline Neal (Luther), Judy Carey, Wanda Sanderson (Art) and Sandy Campbell (Joe). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
