He is survived by: his wife Betsy Tate (Hopper); his children, Teresa Tate, Nova McNeal and William Shayne Tate (Betty Sue); his stepchildren, Patti Sermones (Frank) and Bobby Smith (Pam); his close friend John Meyerhoffer; his grandchildren, Brittnie Ostrum, Tyler Smith, Archie Tate, Franklin Semones, Nichole Duncan, Natasha Semones, Steven McNeal and James William Cope; his great grandchildren, Charlie Reece Duncan, Waverly Taylor Blake McNeal, Waylynn Harper McNeal, Mila Ostrum and Easton Ostrum; and his sister Gwendolyn Lewis.
