He was predeceased by: his pets, Smokey and Heidi. He is survived by: his wife Susan Smart; his children, Mark, Jeff Knaak, Scott Hansen and Heidi Good; his siblings, Larry, Rusty, Janice, Diane, Carol and Bernice; his grandchildren, Jared, Kara, Brandon, Jordyne, Zachary, Mackenzie, Austin, Justin and Kiersten; and his pet Maggie.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church (231 Westchester Dr, Crossville, TN 38558).
