He was predeceased by: his parents, Pantaleon Valdez Somosa and Barbara Calvillo Batres; and his grandson Leonardo David Valdez. He is survived by: his significant other Maria Edelmira Valdez; and his siblings, Francisco Javier Valdez, Adriana Valdez, Sephora Valdez, Servanda Valdez and Maria Valdez.
