He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Vaughan and Maude Vaughan (Byers); his son James Richard Jarvis; and his siblings, William "Bill" Vaughan, Alma Lorene Vaughan, Francis Jackson and Orlando Vaughan.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Jean Young Vaughan; his children, Phillip Vaughan (Tammy Matthews), Leanne Holt (Steve), Sharon Rogers (Lloyd) and Jennifer Hartman; and his grandchildren, Taylor Vaughan (Nick Hopkins), Tiffany Vaughan (Trent Johnson), Nathan Vaughan (Amanda), Stephanie Holt, Matthew Holt (Nikki), Leslie Rogers (Ray Clark), Cody Rogers (Renia), Noah Lee, Hannah Lee and Rick Jarvis. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
