He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Taylor and Sarah Taylor; and his brother Jesse "Hawk" Staten. He is survived by: his children, Donya Taylor of Chattanooga, TN, Tyran Turrentine (Courtney) of Christiana, TN, Derrick Turrentine (Jessica) of Murfreesboro, TN, Taylor Holmes of Winchester, TN, Nicole of Chattanooga, TN and Desiree Taylor of Chattanooga, TN; and his siblings, Tim Taylor (Sherry) of Decherd, TN, Wayne Taylor (Mattie) of Tullahoma, TN, Stella Brannon (Charles) of Winchester, TN, Kitty Knox (Bo) of Lynchburg, TN, Vicki Brown of Belvidere, TN and Lorraine Taylor of Winchester, TN.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
