She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Gelser and Dorothy Carr Gelser; and her husband Norman Charles LaPlant. She is survived by: her children, Kevin Lee LaPlant (Dawn) of New Castle, Pamela Diehl (Ken) of Bean Station and Kathleen LaPlant of Cowan, Tennessee.. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.
