He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Smith and Lola Smith; and his brother John Smith. He is survived by: his wife Kaye Parr Billings Smith; his sons, Chad Billings Smith (Leigh) and Benjamin Neal Smith (Stacy); his grandchildren, Madeline Langley Smith, Stephen Huffman Smith, Benjamin Billings Smith, Christopher David Smith, Charles West Smith and Collier Neal Smith; his siblings, Kenneth Smith (Betty), Paul Smith (Kay) and Cathy Oliver (Claude Simonton); and his sister-in-law Carolyn Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed towards the First United Methodist Church Building fund or a charitable organization of choice.
