With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nicholas Charnel James (Covington, Tennessee), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 9, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Bowers James; his parents, David Colvin James and Mamie Ruth Weir James; and his siblings, Mary Sue Blalack, Francis James, Henry James, LaDelle Alexander and Ella Mae Tanner.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny James (Judy) of Rosemark and Tammy Sampson (Sambo) of Brighton; his grandchildren, Brittney Owen, Chance Sampson, Nick James, Zack James and Tucker James; and his great grandchildren, Abbie Mae Owen, Jerry Allan Owen, McCallie Kate Sampson and Ryen Sampson of Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Covington Funeral Home (3499 U. S. 51 S, Covington, TN 38019). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at the Morrison's Memorial Cemetery (556 Trotter Rd, Brighton, TN 38011).
The family request memorials be made to the Community Baptist Church, 8905 Austin Peay Highway, Millington, TN 38053.
