He was predeceased by: his parents, William Murrell and Mary Murrell; and his wife Bonnie Parker Murrell. He is survived by: his children, Dale Cates (Mark LeFevre), Loy Murrell, Randy Murrell (Carrie), Marilyn Mollard (Mike), Chet Murrell (Debbie), Mike Murrell and Ted Murrell (Cleota). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren.
