He was predeceased by: his son Ray Zachary; his parents, Edgar Zachary and Cecile Zachary; his sister Eda; his brother-in-law Julian Weaver; and his siblings, Christine Young, Willie Mae, Robert Zachary, David (Lois Zachary), Paul (Dolly Zachary) and Rufus (Sybil Zachary).

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Zachary (Webster); his son Junior; his daughter-in-law Kay Zachary; his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Michael Young; and his grandchildren, Justin, MacKenzie Zachary, Christopher, Tiffanie Bradley, Daniel, Haley Bradley and Rachel Zachary. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
