Mathes and Jackie Mathes of Elizabethton, TN; his mother-in-law Delores Casteel (Charles) of Greeneville, TN; his siblings, Chuck Helbling of Pinehurst, NC, Becky Mathes of Elizabethton, TN and Marie Proffitt (Greg) of Jonesborough, TN; his nieces, Heather Range of Jonesborough, TN and Crystal Range Burnside of Jonesborough, TN; his great-nephew James, Jr.; his great-niece Amirah; his aunt Nancy E. Mathes; his cousins, Chris Mathes (Melissa) and Tim Mathes (Robin); his close friends, Penny Oaks, Karisha Hurlbut, Larry Little, Randy Austin, Perry Cobb and Jesse Harrison; and his friend Matt Simerly.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Buffat Heights Baptist Church (2800 Mill Rd, Knoxville, TN 37924). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 4:00 PM and on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM. A burial will be held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Happy Valley Memorial Park (2708 Elizabethton Hwy, Johnson City, TN 37601).
