He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Clasco and Anna Heifner (Weaver); and his siblings, Mary Jane Heifner and Ralph "Hotshot" Heifner. He is survived by: his children, John D. Heifner (Gina) and Deanna Anderson (Sidney) of Maynardville; his grandchildren, Samantha Windham, Devin Heifner, Joshua Windham and Kaylie Heifner; his brother Jimmy Heifner (Rickie) of Powell; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Faye Heifner. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
