She was predeceased by: her parents, Kyle Dalton and Zetta Dalton; her husband Clay Grubb; and her siblings, Frances Staley and Darrell Dalton.

She is survived by: her son Mark; her daughter-in-law Amanda Grubb; her daughter Melody; her son-in-law Brent Boling; her significant other Peyton Boling; her stepgrandchildren, Jonathon and Jessica Macon; her siblings, Carolyn Merritt, Frank Dalton, Terry Dalton (Nancy) and J. Gordon Dalton (Karen); and her siblings-in-law, Johnny Grubb (Jane), Lee Wayne Grubb (Dorma), Wayne Hayes, Annette Farrow (Damon), Judy Beeler (Jackie), Louise Patterson and Gail Dalton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Cheerful was a lifetime organ donor and supporter of organ donation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Tennessee Donor Services, 566 Mainstream Drive, Suite 300, Nashville, TN 37228.
