He was predeceased by: his parent Marvin Luther; his daughter Regina Scott; and his sisters, Anne Mae, Virgie Lee, Cloie Bell, Pauline, Berthie, Ruby and Dorothy Jean.
He is survived by: his parent Nora Elizabeth Taylor Gay; his wife Darlene Bartlett Gay; and his children, Sarah Walker of Chapel Hill, Jackie Gay of Lewisburg, Dwane Matthews of Lewisburg, Rick Parks of Lewisburg and Steve Parks of Lewisburg. He is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
