He was predeceased by: his former wife Lou Ann Anderson; his wife Evelyn Hardin Anderson; his parents, James Arvel and Emma Pearl Farthing Anderson; and his siblings, Lucille Bookhout, Vivian Jones, Elinor Johnston and Wayne Anderson.

He is survived by: his children, Dori McKinney (Keith) of Newport, TN, Cindy Mayfield (Charles) of Dandridge, TN, Debbie Winfield (Walt) of Cordova, TN and Jim Anderson (Beth) of Collierville, TN; his grandchildren, Jonathan McKinney (Crystal), Shauna Decker (Jess), Jason McKinney (Megan), Josh Mayfield, Jessica Coghill (Scott), Anna Freshour (James), Amanda Falberg (Quentin), Brandon Winfield, Hannah Anderson, Haydn Anderson and Hailey Anderson; and his sisters, Cleo Kapilla of Valdosta, GA and Rosemary Alter of Escondido, CA.. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
