He was predeceased by: his parents, Ina Lee Johnson and Brodie Alton Fanning; and his sister Sandra Lorentino. He is survived by: his wife Estelle Coscia Fanning; his children, Sharon Rainey (Steve) and Chuck Fanning (Debra); and his grandchildren, Emily Permenter (Ethan), Chuck Fanning, Jr., Ben Fanning (Lindsey), Daniel Rainey (Meagan) and James Rainey (Laura). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
