He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Pinkston Dike; and his daughter Nancy Virginia Dike. He is survived by: his sons, Ernest Reece Dike, III (Jane) and Harry Pinkston Dike (Sandra). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church.
