He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Luther Waters and Zella Allen Waters; his son Joshua Scott Waters; and his siblings, Myrtle O'Neal, James Waters, Luke Waters, Joe Waters, John Henry Waters, Willard Waters and Ernie Waters.
He is survived by: his wife Aletha Ann Waters of Copperhill; his son Daren Lee Waters of Copperhill; his grandchildren, Ashley Falls (Josh) and Jake Waters (Ansley); his great grandchildren, Carson Joshua Rehagen, Cannon Scott Rehagen, Caleb Paul Rehagen, Ada Ruth Waters and Emmett Blake Waters; his brothers, Charles Waters, Wendel Waters and George Waters; his daughter-in-law Jan Russell Benefield; and his sister-in-law Eileen Lowery. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
