It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilma Ruth Howell (Cookeville, Tennessee), who passed away on April 6, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Ray Howell and Ova Bussell Howell; and her siblings, Jessie Lee Howell, Vera Marie Howell, Nellie Fern Howell, Ray Thomas Howell, William Howell and Kenneth Howell.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Callaway; her sister Laverne Fuqua; her grandchildren, Ashton Puffer (Sheri Puffer), Shannon Puffer and Whitney Small (Chris Small); and her great grandchildren, Ruby, Hailey, Katie, Jacob, Ben and Evelyn.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cookeville Chapel (59 N Jefferson Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Wilma Ruth Howell will be remembered for her profound contributions to her community, her family, and the education sector, as well as for the warmth and joy she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
