He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherfield Sparks Sr. and Tish Hughes Sparks; and his siblings, Herman Sparks, Jack Sparks, Helen Laneave, Ramona Muncey, Tommy Roger Sparks and Richard "Dickie" Sparks.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Mitchem Sparks; his sister Margie Parks; his children, William Robert Sparks and Sharon Lynne Shupe; his grandchildren, Sarah Rowlett, Jacob McMahon, Anna Vincent, Joseph McMahon and Rebecca Fowler; and his great grandchildren, Nathanyel, Logan, Carter, Atticus, Ariana, Ava, Gabriel, Michael and Caleb.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the New Beginnings Assembly of God (2193 W Broad St, Cookeville, TN 38501). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
