With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Shanks of Cookeville, Tennessee, born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 1, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ridley Stephens and Joy Stephens; her husband Reggie Shanks; her daughters, Ginger Freeman and April Kobus; her great grandchild Steve Freeman; and her husband John Kobus.

She is survived by: her son-in-law Sandy Freeman (Ann Burton); her son Justin Kobus; her grandchildren, Stephen Freeman (Angela), Shayna Freeman and Ashley Kobus; and her great grandchildren, Aaliyah White, Hannah Gerhardt, Alisha Gerhardt, Teagan Freeman, Makenzie Gerhardt, Taelyn Freeman and Grayson Freeman.
