He was predeceased by: his parents, James Whitley and Velma Foote Whitley; his close friend James Edlemon; his son Michael Eugene Whitley; and his siblings, Judy Johnson, Jean Pagel, Jane Arnold, James Whitley, Jr., Harold Whitley and Robert "Bobby" Whitley.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Ann Hann; his sons, Jeff Whitley (Sharon) and Loyd Whitley (Melanie); his grandsons, John Michael Whitley and Andrew Todd Whitley; and his close friends, Wayne Hann, Terry Hann and Randy "Pop" Fitzgerald. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home (320 W 7th St, Columbia, TN 38401). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
