He was predeceased by: his parents, Escar Fain Tharp and Lockye Elizabeth Turnbow Tharp; his stepmother Maude Tharp; and his siblings, James Tharp, Loyce Barber and Betty Sue Tharp.
He is survived by: his spouse Jonnie Marie Armstrong; his children, Michael Tharp (Penelope) of Hohenwald and Wendy Anderson of Columbia; his siblings, Bill Tharp (Doris) of Linden and Evelyn Curtis of Columbia; and his grandchildren, Cameron Michael Tharp, Kendall Marie Tharp and Peyton Mikale Anderson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
