He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Orell Bibb Uptain; his wife Janice Cole Uptain; his daughter Kimberly Kay Uptain; and his siblings, David Uptain and Paula Uptain Chadwell.
He is survived by: his sons, Clinton Uptain of Columbia and Monty Uptain of Columbia; his siblings, Wesley Uptain of Williamsport, Beal Uptain of Columbia and Ruby Uptain Hindman (Melvin) of Lynnville, TN; his niece Dina Daniels (Mike) of Lynnville, TN; his close friends, Andie Rhodes and Kay LeMay; and his pet Tuck.
