He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Gibson and Ruby Jane Sweeny Gibson; and his siblings, Coy, Floyd, Wayne Gibson and Elise Drake.
He is survived by: his children, James Gibson (Charity) of Summertown, Angela Lockridge (Lee) of Columbia, Candy Adams (Troy) of Lewisburg and Lanora Estis (Jerry) of Mt. Pleasant; his sisters, Kay Howell of Columbia and Carolyn Bennett (Melvin) of Columbia; and his grandchildren, Terry Keith Morton, Faith Scott, Torie Adams, Christopher Shepherd, Natalya Shepherd, JC Shepherd, Troy Adams, Jr., Shantee Adams and George Adams. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
