She was predeceased by: her parents, John P. Scott and Hester Waller Scott; her son David Earl Simpson; and her siblings, John Wesley Scott, Ophelia "Scottie" Hines and Margaret Gallaher.
She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Brenda Clarke (Philip) of Dayton, Ohio, Hester Hewitt (Jim) of Columbus, Ohio, Jan Hahan, William Heins of Grove City, Ohio and James Bradley of Spring Hill; her stepchildren, Tonya Minor Combs of Nashville and Joe Kent Minor of Columbia; her stepgranddaughter Mandy Eldridge (Rob) of Portland; and her close friends, Tina Hoyt, Tammy Wiggins and Angel Johnson.
