He was predeceased by: his parents, John Malcolm "J. Mike" Blair and Mary Ruth Fraser Blair; his friends, Connie Rayburn and Jimmy Cranford; his brother Allen Nicks Blair; his brother-in-law Dr. Bill Johnston; and his aunts and uncles, Allen Fraser (Mildred), Herbert Fraser (Rebecca), Milton Fraser (Lillian), Leland Blair (Georgia), Louise Caldwell (Howell) and Marie Garrison (Lillard).

He is survived by: his friends, Dr. Taylor and Joyce; his wife Mary Lee Freeman Blair of Columbia; his children, Carol Lee Blair Peterson (Todd) of Memphis and Neal Freeman Blair (Karen) of Columbia; his siblings, Dr. John Rodney Blair (Sandra) and Mary Patsy Blair Johnston of Nashville; his sister-in-law Roseanne "Rocky" Blair of Memphis; his grandchildren, Daniell Neal Blair (Allison), Corey Freeman Blair (Maggie), Parker Blair Peterson, Mackay McTigrit, Graham McTigrit and Andrew Hight; his great grandchildren, Reagan Blair and Abel Hight; and his nieces and nephews, Emily Hardcastle, Will Johnston (Iris), David Johnston, Jenna Smith (Jarrett), Melanie Dodd (James), Alanna Blair and Kit Blair. He is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
