Matilda Couch Beaird Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Matilda Couch Beaird in Columbia, Tennessee, born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 19, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rebecca Louise Couch (Wallace) and James Cummins Couch, Sr.; and her brothers, James Cummins Couch Jr. and Wallace Bell Couch. She is survived by: her children, Samuel Decatur "Dee" Beaird Jr. (Joy), Elizabeth Miller (Beaird), Fitz (Tom) and Mary Margaret "Meg" Van (Beaird); her husband Samuel Decatur Beaird; and her sister Ginger Harlan (Couch). She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Mt Pleasant (202 S. Main St, Mt Pleasant TN 38474), in honor of Matilda's memory.
