She was predeceased by: her parents, Roger Payne and Sarah Scruggs Payne; and her brothers, Hollis, Elwood, Randolph, Billy, Marvin and Lloyd Payne.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Painter; her son Vaughn A. Currier of Reston, VA; her stepson Mitchell Painter (Jennifer) of Mechanicsville, VA; and her grandchildren, Emily of Mechanicsville, VA and Triston Painter of Mechanicsville, VA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
