He was predeceased by: his parents, N. Roy Dodson and Janie Grace Sowell Dodson; his wife Mary Hazel Erwin Dodson; his daughter Mary Jacqueline Dodson; his brother Harold; his sister-in-law Marjorie Dodson; his sisters, Madge (Paul Alderson), Edith (Fred Church) and Faye (Ray Locke); and his nephew Charles Roy Dodson.
He is survived by: his son Jerry Madison Dodson (Susan) of Columbia; his grandchildren, Julie Elisabeth Dodson Ackley (Andrew) of Columbia and Steven Erwin Dodson (Kalah) of Neapolis; and his great grandchildren, Luke Andrew Ackley, Lillian Grace Ackley, Levi James Ackley and Madison Deann Dodson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
